Sorry I haven't had the chance to update this and no I am not dead yet. Just to let you know that I have finally put the blue suit away after 22 years. I don't know wether it is sadness or relief or abject fear that I now have to get a real job. Anyway the Missus is well happy I am back that is until the continual messiness and smell of damp dog forces her to rethink that one!
Have got a couple of things in the pipeline ( and no that is not reference to the curry I had either).

So then anyone wanna buy a job lot of RAF kit? Luckily the stackers had lost my book about 4 years ago so all I resigned for having was a set of denims and a KFS set! So de-kitting was done within 10 mins ( respirator, desert DP's and combats). Walked out the door on Wednesday 29 August and turned left at the camp gates!!!
Got the car back from the garage after some tosspot managed to reverse into the near side door in Asda carpark. At least we had the use of an estate for the best part of a week, which meant moving my gear home was a doddle! Now all I have to do is sort out the paperwork for my A1 assessor portfolio and then watch out!!

Kids go back to school tomorrow; they are growing up in front of my eyes. Joe asked tonight if he could go for a beer with me sometime, I said give it another 10 years and I will take him up on the offer! He is officially a Dr Who Geek as he knows more about it then any 6 year old should really know. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK!

Got a text from Rob tonight Zep and AC/DC together at the 02 arena in the Autumn. I have only wrote this here so I can wind him up about this in a couple of months. Can't really see it as most tickets would be corporate or end up on ebastardo at ridiculous prices. Still he pulled ablinder with getting tickets for Heaven & Hell in Nov. Black Sabbath by any other name but Ronnie Dio can still hit the notes unlike Ozzy, who seems to have settled into the Chat show circuit with aplomb.

Good to see that the Brits are finally pulling out of the centre of Basra and are now only in the airport. Just wish we could pack up and do one from that shitty stinking hellhole. We have wasted enough blood down there for nothing. A job done by Lions led by snakes and unloved by everyone back home. Just hope the guys I know out there make it back in one piece and not in a box on the back of a C-17. keep your heads down guys!!

Will promise to keep this more up to date, and if I don't get a job it could become a serious addiction!

Just back from yet another week of rear party, except this time Ive gotten the kick in the teeth I wasn't expecting. Dragged in the office to be told "We need you to head up a team of guys to go up to Lossie for 3 months to set up a Primary star line because we have run out of hours on too many jets. Oh F**k off youre having a laugh thinx I, but neigh niegh neigh out comes the Order and away I will be going from 2 Oct till Xmas.

Good thing is they are giving us £16 a day to go up there so that will cushion the blow in the beach bar!!!

Lean eventing like f**k. The latest plan from Sengo is to turn one of the HAS's into an Avionic Rets HAS. His idea is to have a 'Quick Fit' has where all jets with avionic snags will be parked up outside and dragged im in order of priority and fixed by the fairies. Why? will it save us money, will it enable us to work longer hours or fly aircraft for longer? Or could it be that the Sengo is doing a masters degree in 'Lean' and needs to write a thesis on setting up and implementing a Lean Process utilising a factory line system?

Nice to see Kev Hulley has settled into civvie street nicely!!!

With the summer turning to Autumn, Jonesy's attempts to bring down TISMT with his germ warfare tactics failed miserably after the boys from EAPF let the cat out of the bag!!
Nice to have some good news in the Air Force. With the news that Kenny, and Rob from Marham and Richie and Martin who I used to work with at Cosford have been picked up for promotion. Many Congrats Guys, make sure you pick up the quilted slippers and Colostomy bags from stores guys. And remember, the smell of piss and death stays in the mess!!!

Nice to se e the diets going well eh Ian?!

Shoarma is so popular in Holland that you might forget it is from the Middle East! When we lived in Germany I really loved it and have tried to copy the spice mix There are many makes and blends in the shops in Holland, they all taste different, now try my homemade mix! Note that there is no salt in the mix. After you have tried this you can always make some changes to suit your own taste.
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon ground coriander
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

If you have whole spices and the time, dry roast the cumin and coriander seeds in a frying pan for several minutes, let them cool and grind as fine as possible Mix everything together and put in a small jar Shoarma idea for 4: approx 1lb pork, lamb or chicken, cut meat in strips, add 1 tablespoon oil and lemon juice, 1 or 2 teaspoons of the spicemix, add salt to taste, mix and leave for a few hours or overnight.
If you like add some chopped onion, crushed garlic, chopped chili pepper and a chopped sweet pepper to the meat mix.
Fry or grill this until done.
Serve in a wrap or pita bread with a mayonnaise sauce,Tzatziki or trywith a spicy chilli sambols and add some finely chopped cucumber to it. Use for barbecues, marinades and so on. It is a recipie designed to be refined and improved upon.

Sh!t I could murder 8 wobblies and a trip down to Roermond to Hermann's Bier Boutiquie for a couple of trappist beers and a shoarma...My idea of a good night out!!!
